(Jan. 21, 2021) -- A man (adult) was shot at early evening tonight (Jan. 21) in the area of Anaheim St. and MLK Ave. (CD 6/Saro.)

LBPD Watch Commander Eric Matusak tells LBREPORT.com (preliminary information) that on Jan. 21 at about 6:28 pm. officers were sent to the 1000 block of E Anaheim St. regarding a personm-hit shooting that had just occurred and found a man (adult) wounded; he was in stable condition when taken to a hospital.

LBPD Gang detectives responded (now routine procedure in non-fatal shootings); the suspect is currently outstanding and LBPD's investigation is ongoing,

It's LB's 26th shooting crime scene since Jan. 1. Five of the shootings were in CD 6 (two with persons hit, three with casings found/buildngs/vehicles struck.) CD 6's recently elected new representative, Suely Saro (replacing former Councilman Dee Andrews) made clear during her campaign that she did nog support restoring LBPD's field anti-gang unit (which Andews had never sought to restore.)
