(January 15, 2021, 3:40 p.m.) -- Parts of North Long Beach has just had two more shootings: one in northern CD 8 (casings found but no persons found hit) and another where a man was shot/wounded, went to a hospital for treatment, and LBPD believes the shooting occurred in the area of Artesia Blvd./LB Blvd. although officers found no crime scene.

In less than three weeks, four LB Council districts have had 19 shooting crime scenes (including a homicide in CD 9): CD 1 (Zendejas), CD 6 (Saro), CD 8 (Austin) and CD 9 (Richardson) plus one on the CD 1/6 (Zendejas/Saro.)

In the two most recent shootings, LBPD Public Information Officer Allison Gallagher says:

  • On JaN 14, 2021, LBPD responded to the 300 block of East Plymouth St. at roughly 8:40 p.m. regarding a shots cal; Officers found casings but no person(s) who'd been hit.

  • On Jan. 14, 2021 at about 10:55 p.m., offices were sent to a local hospital after a report that a shooting victim had shown up. The victim was in stable but critical condition; officers believe the shooting possibly occurred in the area of Artesia Blvd./LB Blvd.)
