(Jan. 27, 2021, 10:30 p.m.) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that for multiple days within the past several days, LB's Dept. of Health and Human Services (2500 Grand Ave.) quietly gave COVID-19 vaccinations at day's end to a currently unknown number of individuals.

It's uncertain when the practice began or who authorized it, but it appearently ended on or about Jan. 26 or 27.

Residents age 65-74 and in the education center -- prioritized by the CDC and CA Dept.of Health and Human Services for vaccinations -- were turned away in the 5 p.m. hour Jan. 27 and told they needed appointments (that are for the most part unavailable.).

LBREPORT.com sought comment/reaction from LB city management at 5:15 p.m. Jan. 27 but reached voice mail. It's uncertain who authorized the Health Dept's no-appointment vaccinations, or (speculated) relates to using up unused vaccine does at day's end. Likewise unknown is whether the city management run agency selectiely alerted some persons but not others, or if individuals learned of it and word spread organically, or a combination of both.

As reported earlier today (Jan. 27) by LBREPORT.com, a city management spokesperson said the City has roughly 15,000 persons on its COVID-19 65+ vaccine "waiting list." LBREPORT.com has previously reported that at least 90% of teachers and educational personnel have been unable to receive vaccines. LBREPORT.com has asked city management to provide the number of emergency services sector persons remain on city waiting lists (response pending.) .
