(July 23, 2020, 11:20 p.m.) -- LBPD confirms it found casings proving gunfire flew at midmorning July 23 in the area of 49th St. near LB Blvd. (8th Council district.)

LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Rudy Garcia says officers responded to the 40 block of W. 49th St. about 10:55 a.m. Officers didn't find any person(s) hit by the rounds but a 15 year old boy tripped and injured himself as he ran from the scene.

The reason for the shooting isn't immediately known but (as is now routine in non-injury shootings) gang detectives responded to conduct an investigation. Sgt. Garcia confirms that they found casings at the scene.
