Midday Drive-By Shooting Narrowly Misses Hitting Man & Woman, NLB Ramona Park Neighborhood

It's the third shooting crime scene within a week in separate parts of NLB's 9th dist, follows three homicides in late June

(July 10, 2020, 6:10 a.m.) -- LBPD says that at about 3:15 p.m. July 9, someone drove-by and shot at a man and a woman (both adults) seated in a vehicle parked near NLB's Ramona Park (3300 block E. 65th St. near Paramount Blvd.)

One of the victims was hit by shrapnel and glass, the other was uninjured.

It's the third shooting crime scene within seven days (July 2-9) in separate areas of Councilman Rex Richardson's 9th Council district. On July 2, two groups exchanged gunfire at midday in DeForest Park. On July 6, a man was shot/wounded in the overnight hours along the Arteia Blvd.corridor near Paramount Blvd. The Ramona Park area is just blocks south of Artesia Blvd. near Paramount Blvd.

The three non-fatal shootings in July follow three homicides in the closing days of June, one on Adair St. (a few blocks from DeForest Park) to two homicides (including one at a multi-victimm shooting) in the South St/Orange Ave. neighborhood. .
