(June 15, 2019, from front page June 13, 2019) -- In 2015, 9th dist. Councilman Rex Richardson created a genuinely uplifting annual event honoring college-bound graduates of NLB's Jordan High. He came up with the idea of posting very conspicuous street banners along Atlantic Ave. and Artesia Blvd. crediting the college-bound graduates by name. LBREPORT.com attended the first event and we were very impressed but we wondered if it would continue. It has.
On June 10, 2019, LBREPORT.com attended the 5th annual Jordan High college-bound banner unveiling event. To our knowledge, we were the only independent (non-government) Long Beach outlet present on scene to provide extended video coverage of the event. LBREPORT.com commends Councilman Richardson for creating and continuing the event (he credits partnership with LBUSD), we commend the inspiring student speakers you'll see and hear, we congratulate Jordan High's college-bound graduates and their parents, each and every one.
