(June 25, 2019, 7:30 p.m.) -- A large crowd (we estimate 200+) including Long Beach Fire Department personnel (rank and file + brass), LBPD, Long Beach elected officials, city management, familymembers, friends and ordinary taxpayers gathered in the 2400 block of Argonne Ave. on the morning of June 25 for a ceremony renaming LBFD's training facility the "Captain David Rosa Regional Training Center."

LBREPORT.com provides extended on-demand VIDEO of the full event, held one year to the day from when Capt. Rosa perished when responding to a fire at downtown LB residential high rise building. An elderly deranged resident shot him as he came to help the building's residents. Amid an outpouring of citywide emotion, his colleagues resolved to ensure that Capt. Rosa and his values would be permanently remembered.

And now, they will be.

Those present won't soon forget the ceremony. LBREPORT.com provides extended video coverage below for those unable to attend,

Although presiding officials did their best to try to remain upbeat in celebrating Capt. Rosa's life, we saw more than a few people daubing their eyes during the eloquent words spoken by Capt. Rosa's wife, Lynley.
