The six month record destruction period coincides with the terms of office of Mayor Garcia and then-Councilmembers Lena Gonzalez, Suja Lowenthal, Suzie Price, Patrick O'Donnell, Stacy Mungo, Dee Andrews, Roberto Uranga, Al Austin and Rex Richardson (nearly all of whom were endorsed in their elections, re-elections or for higher office by the LB police officers union; Anderws and Austin are currently seeking re-election in Nov. 2020 with LBPOA PAC's support) : The June 16 item is part of the Council's "consent calendar," a list of multiple items that the Council can approve without discussion on a single vote unless a Councilmember pulls an item for individual discussion and an individual recorded vote. The public can speak to any consent calendar item, pro or con, but can't require separate Council discussion of the item or a separate recorded vote.
