(June 26, 2020) -- Six people were shot/wounded at four crime scenes within two days in parts of Central and WLB.

LBPD Overnight Watch Commander Lt. Gary DePhillipo tells LBREPORT.com:

  • June 25, about 11:59 p.m., officers were sent to the 900 block of West Esther St.(south of PCH, just east of L.A. river, 1st dist) and found a man shot/wounded. The suspect was possibly known to the victim and for now, detectives don't believe this shooting was gang-related.

  • June 25, about 8:50 p.m.: officers were sent to the area of Webster Ave./Canton St. (3 blocks west of Santa Fe, south of Spring. St., 7th dist.) where a man (adult) was shot/wounded (last reported in critical but stable condition) and two other men were subsequently located who'd also been shot (non-life-threatening wounds.)

LBPD Public Information Officer/Ofr. Ivan Garcia tells LBREPORT.com:

  • June 24, about 5:45 p.m., a shooting victim (juvenile) arrives or is brought to a hospital with a non-life threatening wound, LBPD investigation indicates the victim was a passenger in a vehicle that was driving in the 2100 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave. (6th dist) where the incident possibly occurred. There's no suspect info; the motive is unknown and LBPD's investigation is ongoing.

  • June 24, about 5:00 p.m., officers were sent to Seaside Park (14th St./Chestnut, 1st dist.) regarding a shooting, finds a man (adult) with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers begin life saving measures; LBFD transports the victim to a hospital (as of June 25 reported in critical condition.) Suspects described as two males (unknown age) last seen running from the location; motive not yet determined.
