    (June 28, 2020. 5:10 a.m.) -- In a less than twelve hour period between 6 p.m. Saturday night (June 27) and predawn Sunday June 28), LB had five additional shooting crime scenes

  • June 27: 9 p.m. hour: 9th/Magnolia (near Daisy Ave.) Man shot/wounded (1st dist./Zendejas)

  • June 27 9 p.m. hour: 17th/Gundry: Shots fired/casings found/no-persons hit (6th dist./Andrews)

  • June 27: 10 p.m. hour: 14th/Gardenia. Man shot, current condition uncertain (4th/6th border Supernaw/Andrews)

  • June 28: 12:19 a.m. hour: 4th/Walnut: Shots fired/casings found, witnesses say drive-by shooting (but no victim located) (2nd dist/Pearce)

  • June 28: 1:13 a.m hour: 15th/Chestnut: Shots fired at man in parked vehicle, 2 suspects approach and begin shooting, rounds miss hitting victim but damage vehicle (1st dist/Zendejas)

    The above shootings were preceded shooings in Central LB/WLB neighborhoods that included broad daylight gunfire at Seaside Park (1400 block Chestnut/1st dist/Zendejas) on June 24 that became LB's 12th homicide of 2020 (4th in 1st dist.)

    LBPD says citizens in the park and arriving police officers both used life saving measures prior to the arrival of LBFD paramedics try to save the life of Jose Rodriguez, 23, of Long Beach.(who later died at a hospital.) (LBREPORT.com coverage here and here.
