(June 5, 2021, 2:25 a.m.) -- In LB's second shooting within about five hours, a man was shot/wounded in the Washington Middle School neighborhood where the west end of 14th St. Park meets Seaside Park.

LBPD Watch Commander Lt. Brandon Deis says that at about nine minutes into the midnight hour on June 5, West Division Patrol Officers responded to the area of 14th St/Chestnut Ave. regarding a person-hit shooting. Officers found a man (adult) with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and LBFD transported him to a hospital in stable condition.

There's no suspect information and LBPD's investigation is ongoing.

The Washington Middle School neighborhood was in the middle of the area where LBPD deployed "walking cops" (through March/April 2021, ended May 1) in hopes of building relationships and reducing shootings.

As separately reported by LBREPORT.com, at abut 7 p.m. on June 4, NLB's Coolidge Triangle had a fatal shooting (LBREPORT.com coverage here.)
