(June 19, 2021, 11:10 a.m.) -- LBREPORT.com has learned there was a THIRD Friday June 18 shooting -- this one at midafternoon in 1000 block of E. 7th St (CD 1/Zendejas) -- in which a man was struck and wounded. It occurred just hours before a late evening E. 7th St. shooting in the 1100 block of E. 7th St. (a block away, border CD 1/Zendejas and CD2/Allen) in which no person(s) were hit. The area is basically within a block or two of LB's Museum of Latin American Art.

Those two June 18 shootings came between a late afternoon drive-by shooting in the 2100 block of Pine Ave. (CD 6/Saro) in which rounds missed hitting a person.

LBPD PIO Alvino Herrera says the midafternoon shooting in the 1000 block of E. 7th St. wounded a man (adult); LBFD transported him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A preliminary investigation indicates that during a disute with a man (adult) suspect, the suspect shot the victim and fled in a silver vehicle.

The victim and suspect wewren't known to each other, PIO Herrera says. (Someone subsequently brought a man into a local hospital with a gunshot wound, but the wounded man left before talking with police, leaving unclear if he was the victim brought to the hospital was shot in Long Beach or elsewhere.
