June 20 update: LBPD arrests suspect:
/(June 19, 2021, 4:25 p.m.) -- Now LB's 4th shooting in less than 24 hours has turned into LB's latest homicide. LBPD says (preliminary information) the victim and suspect were in a "verbal dispute" prior to the shooting in the the area of Anaheim St. just west of Alamitos Ave. (CD 6/Saro) and the victim succumbed to his wounds at a hospital.

LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Alvino Herrera says (preliminary information) that on June 19 at about 2:00 p.m., officers were sent to the 1000 block of E. Anaheim St. regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call. While officers responded, they learned that a man (adult) victim was being transported to a local hospital by unknown associates with a gunshot wound to the upper torso

"When officers arrived, they located a crime scene and evidence. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim and a male adult suspect were in a verbal dispute prior to the shooting."

UPDATE: While investigating the call, the shooting victim succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

Gang detectives initially responded and homicide detectives are on their way to the scene.
