(June 9, 2021, 12:15 p.m.) -- A resident's home in Long Beach's downtown adjacent Willmore City historic district (CD 1/Zendejas) was struck by gunfire last night (June 8).

LBPD Public Information Officer Brandon Fahey tells LBREPORT.com that on June 8 at about 11:07 p.m. officers responded to the 500 block of Magnolia Ave. [less than a half mile north of LBPD HQ] regarding a shooting into a report of shooting into an occupied dwelling.

"Upon arrival, officers contacted a female adult victim who stated she was inside her residence when she heard a loud noise and observed her residence had been struck by gunfire. Officers canvassed the area and located ballistic evidence indicating a shooting had occurred."

No physical injuries were reported; no suspect information is available; the motive for the shooting is unknown and LBPD's investigation is ongoing.

The latest shooting at an occupied dwelling comes hours before a woman across town was awakened by gunfire that struck her NLB home and her parked car. That shooting that came just hours after a fatal shooting at the western edge of NLB's Coolidge Triangle.
