(June 1, 2021, 1:05 a.m..) - Starting at dawn (May 31/Memorial Day), the non-profit group Honoring Our Fallen read aloud the names of roughly 7,000 U.S. servicemembers killed in combat or combat-training actions since 9/11.

The group livestreamed the event (now avalable on-demand) from LB's Rosie the Riveter park.

Those reading the names included Gold Star Families, local active-duty military, law enforcement, first responders and veterans. They continued until the last name was read.

Multiple Los Angeles TV outlets sent news crews.

LBREPORT.com carried the event LIVE and now on-demand on our front page (www.LBREPORT.com) and Facebook platform.

Honoring Our Fallen provided visitors who'd lost family members with charcoal pencils and paper so they could make rubbed copy of their loved one's name on the Honoring Our Fallen Memorial Wall (containing names of perished service members since 9/11.)

Flags lined the walkway from Clark Ave. to the event site.

The event was independently organized and produced by Honoring Our Fallen. [To LBREPORT.com's knowledge, no Long Beach elected officials promoted the event via their social network channels or "newsletters." We'll stand corrected if anyone offers evidence to the contrary.]
