(June 19, 2021, 5:25 a.m., updated 10:25 a.m.) -- Just hours after a drive-by shooting in LB's Wrigley neighborhood struck and wounded a man in the area of Pine Ave./21st St. (CD 6/.Saro), gunfire flew in the area of 7th St. just east of Alamitos Ave. (border CD1/Zendejas and CD 2/Allen) at the northern edge of Alamitos Beach, just blocks from LB's Museum of Latin American Art. The gunfire prompted an LBPD pursuit of a vehicle and the arrest of its female adult driver.

Initial information was very sketchy on what appears to be no-person-hit shooting. LBPD Watch Commander Lt. Brandon Deis said that at about 10:22 p.m.,South Division Patrol and Coordinated Response Team Officers responded to the 1100 block of East 7th Street regarding a shooting. Officers located a vehicle possibly involved in the incident, engaged in a short vehicle pursuit and arrested the vehicle's driver (an adult woman.)

[UPDATE] In a midmorning (June 19) updated, LBPD PIO Alvino Herrera says the pursuit began when the vehicle failed to yield to LBPD's traffic stop. "A crime scene and evidence were located at the dispatched location. There were no reported injuries. A suspec taken into custody was a 26 year old Long Beach woman but "her involvement in the incident is unknown."

Gang detectives responded (common in LB non-fatal shootings) and LBPD's investigation is ongoing.
