(March 31, 2019, 12:15 p.m.) -- A man who showed up shot/wounded at a Fountain Valley hospital has told LBPD that he was shot when meeting someone to conduct personal business in the 3000 block of E. Artesia Blvd. at about 6 p.m. on Saturday March 30.

The March 30 shooting comes one day after a man and a woman showed up to sell an item to a man they'd agreed to meet the area of Obispo Ave./69th St...and instead their buyer pointed a gun at the male victim (who ran off) after which the gunman approached the woman waiting in a nearby vehicle, demanded money and got her wallet.

Saturday's shooting is just south of 91 freeway about a block west of Obispo Ave.; Friday's robbery on Obispo Ave. is a couple of blocks north of the 91 freeway. Lt. Richardson said it's not currently clear if the two incidents are related or whether the March 30 shooting was gang related. LBPD's investigation of both incidents is ongoing.
