(March 15, 2020, 12:15 p.m.) -- This story follows up on part of the COVID-19 story that LBREPORT.com has reported for days.

As LBREPORT.com reported on March 13 (initial report) and March 14 (with detailed transcript), President Donald Trump told a March 13 White House press conference that a new drive-through testing procedure will enable wirespread testing and faster results for the COVID-19 virus. As of March 14, Business Insider reported that at least seven states have at least one "drive through" COVID-19 testing site and one of those sites is in San Francisco (operated by Kaiser-Permanente.)

So what about Long Beach? Jennifer Rice Epstein in the City of LB's Joint Information Center tells LBREPORT.com (March 15, 11:34 a.m.):

[Scroll down for further.]

The City of Long Beach has not been required by the State or Federal government to conduct drive-through testing here. In the future, we may work with local healthcare providers to offer drive-through testing, but we are not planning to offer it to the public at this time.

As you know, local labs now also have the ability to test, so people can be referred from their healthcare provider to the testing facility if they meet the criteria for COVID-19 screening.
