Mar. 24 Election Update: Measure A In Virtual Dead Heat -- 50%-50% -- Losing By Nine Votes Out Of Nearly 100,000 Cast With 3,600 More Ballots Countywide Remaining To Be Counted

(March 24, 2020, 6:10 p.m.) -- The Measure A sales tax extension (backed by LB Mayor Garcia and LB's police/firefighter unions) is in a virtual dead-heat -- 50% to 50% -- trailing by nine votes with 3,600 additional ballots countywide remaining to be counted.

NO 49,644 50.00%
YES 49,635 50.00%

The 3,600 remaining ballots are described by the Registar Recorder as vote by mail ballots (received from Vote Centers, Drop Boxes and USPS as of March 6) and "Misc. ballots" (incl. "damaged/withheld ballots")

In the 8th Council district, Reform Ticket candidate Juan Ovalle is finishing is third place, trailing second place incumbent Mayor-backed Al Austin by 135 votes (a margin of 1.43% of votes counted to date.
