Saturday's first shooting (March 20: a man shot/wounded in the area of 10th St./Myrtle Ave., border CD 1/CD6 Zendejas/Saro), previously reported by LBREPORT.com here) came five days after a drive-by shooting missed hitting a man and a woman (adults) in the very same area of 10th St./Myrtle Ave. (March 16).
Less than an hour after the March 20 Saturday afternoon shooting, LB had another shooting. LBPD Public Information Officer Daisy Paul tells LBREPORT.com that at about 5:25 p.m. on March 20, officers were sent to the 1000 block of E. 17th Street (CD6/Saro Poly High knighthood near MLK Ave.) regarding a no-hit shooting. Two male juveniles were in an alley when a vehicle drove by and some person(s) shot at them. The rounds missed hitting the two young people but at least one round struck an inhabited building (no injuries to persons in the building.).
Less than six hours later, LB had another shooting. PIO Paul says that at about 11:00 p.m. on March 20 officers were sent to the nearby area of PCH/LB Blvd. (border CD1/CD6) regarding a no-person-hit shooting. A 19 year old man told police a black sedan approached him and a suspect fired two shots at him...which missed hitting him. Shortly thereafter, an injury traffic collision occurred in the area of PCH/MLK involving the suspect vehicle and the victim said its driver was the suspect who allegedly fired at him. LBPD arrested and booked the suspect, Lionel Pina Ramirez, 20, of Long Beach, on suspicion of assault with a firearm on a person.
Less than three hours later on Sunday March 21 at roughly 1:40 a.m. officers were sent to a local hospital regarding a 28 year old man had gunshot wounds. Police describe him as uncooperative and say he didn't say where the shooting occurred or provide suspect information.
And finally, LBREPORT.com has learned of a person-hit shooting (non-life-threatening wound) at midmorning Sunday March 21 in CD 6 update) in the 2100 block of Locust Avenue. Details separately on thiks.
