LBFD Public Information Officer Capt. Scott Clegg says firefighters responded to the 500 block of Rhea Ave. (b/w LB Blvd. & Atlantic, 3 blocks north of PCH) and found a 19 year old man with what appeared to be eight wounds [unclear if entry or exit]: a gunshot wound to his abdomen, a grazing wound to his chest...and six wounds to his arms and legs. LBFD transported him to a local hospital in stable condition.

The 13 year old girl suffered a gunshot wound to her lower right leg.

[update] LBPD Public Information Jana Blair tells a Hispanic suspect walked up and shot the two African American victims. The suspect then fled in a vehicle nearby.

LBPD worked through the night, serving search warrants in connection with this crime.
