(May 8, 2019, 3:30 p.m.) -- LBPD has arrested and booked a man on suspicion of murder after his live-in girlfriend was pronounced deceased by LBFD with what police described as blunt force trauma to her upper body.
In a release, LBPD says that on May 7 at about 7:30 a.m., it sent officers to the 600 block of E. 10th St. (10th/Atlantic, north side of street is 6th Council district, bordering 1st dist.) in response to an unknown trouble call, found Sena Kim, 37 with the injuries described above...and LBFD pronounced her deceased at the scene. LBPD says its preliminary investigation indicated Ms. Kim, 37, "was [allegedly] physically assaulted by her cohabitant boyfriend, who remained at the scene and was taken into custody by responding officers." LBPD identifies the suspect as Soeun Sam, 59, of Long Beach, booked on suspicion of murder. "A motive for the assault is unknown and the investigation remains ongoing," LBPD's release says.
