(May 8, 2019, 5:30 p.m.) -- A man was shot/wounded at about dusk Tuesday (May 7) along Market St. at Pine Ave. (8th Council district.)

LBPD Public Information Officer Jennifer De Prez says that officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at Market/Pine at about 6:30 p.m., found a man (adult) unconscious with gunshot wounds... and LBFD transported him to a hospital.

LBPD's initial information indicated two men (adults) fled in a four-door sedan and the shooting is being investigating as gang related.

However PIO De Prez says LBPD hasn't determined that this was a drive-by shooting; it remains unclear for now if the victim was on bicycle (varying witness statements) or if the victim and the calling party are known to each other.

LBPD's investigation is ongoing.
