(May 30, 2019, updated 12:45 p.m.) -- Signal Hill PD has updated information on last night's (May 29) shooting inside a residence just north of PCH at roughly Obispo Ave. just west of Redondo Ave. (3200 block of E. 9th St.)

SHPD says in a release that on Wednesday May 29 at about 11:12 p.m., it received reports of shots fired (and one person said a person was shot); officers found two persons shot (two men/adults.)

As of May 30, one remains in critical condition; the other was treated/released from a hospital. Three suspects fled the scene and are currently at large.

SHPD's release did NOT use the term "home invasion robbery" and does NOT indicate any property was stolen.

SHPD's investigation is ongoing. SHPD's is interested in hearing from anyone with information about what took place: SHPD Detective Russ Hefte at (562) 989-7214.
