(May 10, 2021, 9:15 a.m.) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that the Walmart in the 7200 block of E. Carson St. (Towne Center) was the victim of an armed robbery on Sunday night May 8.

LBPD Public Information Officer Arantxa Chavarria says that at about 10:26 p.m. on May 8, officers were sent to the location for a "person with a gun call" and once on scene determined that an armed robbery had occurred.

"Through their investigation officers learned the suspect, a male adult, entered the business, displayed a firearm on his person, and demanded merchandise from a store clerk," PIO Chavarria says. "The suspect fled on foot prior to officers’ arrival. The loss was miscellaneous electronics items. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing."
