(May 18, 2020) -- Residents in part of NLB's 9th Council district (Richardson) heard gunfire followed by an LBPD response yesterday (May 17). LBPD says the victim and the suspects are known to each other but the motive for the shooting is unknown.

LBPD Public Information Officer Brandon Fahey tells LBREPORT.com that on May 17 at about 6:65 p.m. officers responded to the 5900 block of Linden Avenue regarding a shots call and found a man who said he was in alley where he was involved in a verbal dispute with a man and a woman (adults). "The dispute escalated, the male suspect shot at the victim" and both suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. They found evidence, including bullet casings, indicating a shooting had occurred.

No injuries were reported; the investigation is ongoing
