(May 1, 2021, 6:20 p.m.) -- The 8th district neighborhood about two blocks west of Atlantic Ave. and just south of Market St. (CD 8/Austin) heard gunfire on Friday night (April 30.)

LBPD Public Information Officer Arantxa Chavarria says that at abut 8:50 p.m., officers were sent to the 300 block of Plymouth St regarding a shots call and found bullet casings indicating a shooting had occurred. No victims were located and suspects fled in a vehicle prior to officers’ arrival. LBPD's investigation is ongoing.

The gunshots and police respons weren't unfamiliar to the neighborhood's residents. On Jan. 14, 2021, a shooting occurred in the same 300 block of Plymouth St. Officers again found casings but no persons hit.
