Overnight Gunfire: 700 block E. Shoreline Dr (Near Volleyball courts not far from Villa Riviera)

(May 23, 2021 7:15 p.m.) -- Officers responding to a shots fired call at about 1:45 a.m. today (May 23) found bullet casings in the 700 block of E. Shoreline Dr. (CD 2/Allen.) The area is near the volleyball courts not far from the Villa Riviera.

LBPD Public Information Officer Ofcr. Daisy Paul says no persons were injured and no buildings or vehicles were struck by the gunfire.

The suspect(s) fled prior to officers' arrival. There's no immediate suspect information; the motive is unknown; and LBPD's investigation is ongoing.

In November 2020, a man (adult) was shot/wounded and a male teen with him was shot-at but not hit a bit west of the most recent gunfire. The shooting took place in the 500 block of E. Shoreline Dr. (CD 2, roughly Linden Ave., south of the "Elephant Lot"/Convention Ctr surface parkling lot.)

On Sept. 19, gunfire flew a few blocks away at the "Pike" commercial center (CD 2, area Shoreline Dr./Pine Ave.) with no persons hit. On Aug. 9, in the Pike commercial area (midnight hour: Seaside Way/Cedar Ave.) a male juvenile was struck/wounded by gunfire.
