November 12, 2018, 9:55 a.m.) -- In the 10 p.m. hour Saturday night (Nov. 10) in downtown Long Beach adjacent to LB's new Civic Center (200 block Pacific Ave., 2nd Council district), someone fired shots at a parked vehicle -- with a man (adult) and a girl (juvenile) inside. The shots missed the vehicle's occupants but damaged the vehicle.

It was the first of two LB shootings within ten minutes on Saturday night. The second (reported here by LBREPORT.com) was about 1.7 miles north and a bit west in the area of PCH/Henderson (one block east of Magnolia) where a man was shot/wounded (border of 1st and 6th Council districts.)

Saturday's two shootings preceded a shooting on Sunday night (Nov. 11) in the area of Atlantic/Burnett in which a man was hit/wounded (6th Council district) (reported here by LBREPORT.com)

LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt tells LBREPORT.com that at about 10:20 p.m. on Nov. 10, officers were sent to the 200 block of Pacific Ave. regarding a shots call and arrived to find a man (adult) and a girl (juvenile) in a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. "The preliminary investigation revealed the two victims were sitting in their parked vehicle when an unknown suspect fired at the vehicle." Neither of the two victims were hit. LBPD says a motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation is on-going

Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to contact the Gang Enforcement Section at (562) 570-7370. Anonymous tips may be submitted through "LA Crime Stoppers" by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), downloading the "P3 Tips" app to your smart phone (available at the Apple App store and Google Play), or visiting www.lacrimestoppers.org.
