(Nov. 9, 2020, 10:55 p.m.) -- On November 9, parents/guardians of students using Horace Mann Elemenay's (257 Coronado Ave.) Child Development Center (CDC) received notification of "at least one confirmed case" of COVID-19" in a "person" (not otherwise identified) on November 6. "This is a general notification to keep you informed and share that all of the safety protocols were in place and a separate exposure notification was given to parents of students who may have been potentially exposed," wrote principal Tracy Fiala. "We are informing you of this circumstance in an abundance of caution and to ask you to closely monitor your child’s health."

The Mann letter is similar to those previously sent to parents/guardians at Tincher (Nov. 5), preceded in October and September by Twain (CDC), Burroughs (Head Start), Henry (Kid's Club although Kid's Club not directly involved), Dooley Day Care (CDC), Garfield (CDC), Bixby Kids Club, Webster (CDC), Edison (Head Start), the Jordan Baseball Program and Willard (CDC.)

As of Nov. 9 at 11:00 a.m., LBUSD's COVID dashboard at this link indicates 45 confirmed COVID-19 cass among 28 LBUSD employees, 15 LBUSD students and two vendors...and this is with only some LBUSD campuses open for CDC, limited day care and special programs. LBUSD campuses are otherwise closed to in person instruction.
