(October 24, 2018, 8:20 a.m.) -- A man (adult) was shot in a drive-up shooting at about dawn Oct. 23 in along W. 48th St. just west of LB Blvd. (8th district, just north of the RR tracks.)

In March 2017, two men were shot -- one of whom did not survive -- in the same general vicinity (48th St. just west of LB Blvd.)

In the most recent killing, LBPD Public Information Officer Benjamin Hearst tells LBREPORT.com that on Oct. 23, 2018 at about 6:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of W. 48th Street regarding a shooting call. Officers found a man (adult) hit by gunfire; the preliminary investigation indicated the suspect pulled-up in a vehicle and fired rounds at the victim who was getting into his vehicle. LBFD transported the wounded man to a hospital with "non-life-threatening" injuries. There's no suspect information available and a motive for the shooting is under investigation.
