(October 29, 2018, 3:10 p.m.) -- A man (adult) says he was stabbed/wounded on Saturday afternoon Oct. 27 in the 5200 block of Atlantic Ave. It's the same area where a 20 year old LBCC student was found fatally shot in the midnight hour on September 26.

LBPD Public Information Officer Ben Hearst tells LBREPORT.com that no motive has been determined, but LBPD is investigating the Oct. 27 stabbing as possibly gang related. PIO Hearst says officers responded at roughly 4:30 p.m. to the nearby Carmelitos housing project (800 block Via Wanda) regarding a stabbing and found a victim whom they described as uncooperative, who said he was stabbed in the 5200 block of Atlantic Ave.

The 5200 block of Atlantic is the same area where a LBCC student, Guy Eugene Alford, 20, was found shot to death in the midnight hour on Sept. 26 in the parking lot of a drive through restaurant.

A month prior to the homicide, a man was shot/wounded at midmorning Aug. 30 in the 5300 block of Long Beach Blvd.

All three crime scenes are in the 8th Council district (Councilman Al Austin.)
