(October 7, 2018, 1:10 p.m.) -- Updated information is now visible on the City Clerk's website showing two more sizable contributions to the "Mayor Robert Garcia Committee & City Auditor Laura Doud Committee to Support Good Government Measures AAA, BBB, CCC, DDD" (the entity Garcia renamed from a pro-Measure M campaign committee which he renamed from a pro-Measure A campaign committee):
Sept. 20, 2018: John Molina, $5,000.
Sept. 25, 2018: Long Beach Collective Association: $5,000 The entity describes itself on its website as "a nonprofit trade association comprised of cannabis businesses in Long Beach, including dispensaries, cultivation, labs, manufacturing, and distribution. After the 2012 city-wide cannabis ban, the LBCA lead the fight to bring regulation back to the city of Long Beach. We currently work with the Long Beach Health Department on public health and cannabis education. The Long Beach Collective Association’s mission is to provide safe and legal cannabis access for residents under California State Law and Long Beach Municipal Code. The LBCA offers assistance and guidance to its members to navigate and succeed in the cannabis industry. The LBCA Works closely with the city, Long Beach health department and various community organizations to ensure public safety, cannabis education, and non-invasive environment for residents. LBPOA President James Foster tells LBREPORT.com (Sept. 30) that a July 9 contribution of $25,000 to the Committee from the LB Police Officers Ass'n PAC (roughly a month after the June Measure M election) was to close out/help pay off remaining Committee debt/unpaid bills (listed as $39,863 as of June 30) from the Committee's Measure M campaign.
