Two Add'l Sizable Contributions To Garcia/Doud "Good Gov't" Campaign Committee For Measures AAA-DDD: John Molina ($5,000) and LB Collective Ass'n ($5,000)

(October 7, 2018, 1:10 p.m.) -- Updated information is now visible on the City Clerk's website showing two more sizable contributions to the "Mayor Robert Garcia Committee & City Auditor Laura Doud Committee to Support Good Government Measures AAA, BBB, CCC, DDD" (the entity Garcia renamed from a pro-Measure M campaign committee which he renamed from a pro-Measure A campaign committee):

Sept. 20, 2018: John Molina, $5,000.
Mr. Molina is a founding partner in "Pacific6," which purchased the "The Breakers" (Nov. 2017, 210 E. Ocean Blvd. b/w Pine/LB Blvd.) and the "Ocean Center Building" (April 2018, SW corner Ocean Blvd/Pine Ave.) Pacific6 is expected to seek City Hall approval(s) for its desired use/re-use plans for the buildings (which haven't yet reached the Planning Comm'n or City Council.) Mr. Molina is also a named co-principal in Molina/Wu/Network LLC, currently negotiating with City staff for ultimate City Council approval the terms of a long-term lease to operate a reduced-size version of Community Hospital on City-owned land. In June 2018, a Pacific6 subsidiary acquired and now operates "LBPost.com." Its immediate-past publisher for several years was Cynthia Allen, owner/operator of downtown LB's ETA Agency (advertising/marketing) and the spouse of retired (effective Oct. 2017) LBPD Commander Randy Allen.

Sept. 25, 2018: Long Beach Collective Association: $5,000 The entity describes itself on its website as "a nonprofit trade association comprised of cannabis businesses in Long Beach, including dispensaries, cultivation, labs, manufacturing, and distribution. After the 2012 city-wide cannabis ban, the LBCA lead the fight to bring regulation back to the city of Long Beach. We currently work with the Long Beach Health Department on public health and cannabis education. The Long Beach Collective Association’s mission is to provide safe and legal cannabis access for residents under California State Law and Long Beach Municipal Code. The LBCA offers assistance and guidance to its members to navigate and succeed in the cannabis industry. The LBCA Works closely with the city, Long Beach health department and various community organizations to ensure public safety, cannabis education, and non-invasive environment for residents. As of Sept. 15, the Garcia/Doud "Good Government" campaign committee reported a cash balance of $46,543 with $20,306 in outstanding debts/unpaid bills.

LBPOA President James Foster tells LBREPORT.com (Sept. 30) that a July 9 contribution of $25,000 to the Committee from the LB Police Officers Ass'n PAC (roughly a month after the June Measure M election) was to close out/help pay off remaining Committee debt/unpaid bills (listed as $39,863 as of June 30) from the Committee's Measure M campaign.

The recently formed LB Reform Coalition Political Action Committee (PAC), whose first goal is the defeat of Measure BBB, held its first fundraiser on Sept. 20 (just outside the recently-concluded reporting period) and its first financial report is due shortly.
