(Oct. 17, 2015, 8:20 a.m.) -- At its October 11 monthly endorsement meeting, the Long Beach Democratic Club endorsed all four Mayor-Auditor supported, Council-advanced (9-0) Charter Amendments AAA-DDD after allowing an opposition presentation but disallowing a vote, citing a provision in governing bylaws.

Across town, the LB Area Republicans governing board voted to remain neutral on BBB but without dissent supported AAA, CCC and DDD.

The Long Beach Reform Coalition, which had both Dem and Repub activists visible at its August fundraiser, is focused on defeating BBB (three terms for LB's incumbent Mayor/Council, replacing two terms with required write-in for further terms) and a number of the coalition's constituent groups oppose AAA, CCC, DDD

Mayor Garcia is a Dem. Auditor Doud is a Repub. A Council majority is Dem. Councilwoman Price has indicated she plans to vote "no" on BBB; Council incumbents Supernaw and Mungo aren't listed among supporters of AAA-DDD on the pro-Charter Amendment campaign website.
