(Oct. 31, 2020, 6:10 a.m.) -- Following-up on a two vehicle collision with horrifying pedestrian consequences (initial informaion flashed yesterday (Oct. 30) on LBREPORT.com's Facebook platform), LBPD says a 61 year old Long Beach woman, seated at a bus bench at the corner of 7th St./Cherry Ave., was struck and killed by a vehicle knocked out of control in a two vehicle collision at the intersection,

The LA County Coroner's office has released the identify of the decedent: Haroldine Lesne, 61, of Long Beach (source: LA County Coroner Lt. Smith.)

LBPD states in a release that on Oct. 30 at about 2:40 p.m., officers responded and found two vehicles involved and LBFD responded and began administering medical aid "but the pedestrian...succumbed to her injuries at the scene."

[LBPD release text] The preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 BMW, driven by a 38-year-old resident of Long Beach, struck a 2000 GMC, driven by a 69-year-old resident of Fontana, in the intersection of 7th Street and Cherry Avenue. This collision caused the driver of 2000 GMC to lose control of his vehicle and strike a pedestrian who was sitting on the bus bench.

Both drivers remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol, drugs, and distracted driving were not a factor for either driver. They were positively identified with their valid driver’s licenses, had proof of insurance, and were released from the scene...
