(Oct. 2, 2020, latest update 3:40 p.m.) -- COVID-19 infected and now symptomatic ("low grade fever" and fatigue) President Trump is being taken to Walter Reed medical center for what the White House describes as a "precautionary measure." He delivered this brief statement before boarding a helicopter for the short flight to suburban Maryland.

...and then followed about an hour later with this: "I’ve lost two parents to COVID19. It’s a horrific virus and I don’t wish it on anyone. I hope that once and for all we take this pandemic seriously as a country. Now more than ever we need strong national leadership."
Dem Presidential candidate Joe Biden: "Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery. We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family."
