(Oct. 24, 2021) -- A man (adult) was shot to death on Saturday Oct. 23 in the 6200 block of Downey Ave. (CD 9/Richardson) in eastern NLB bordering Lakewood.

In a release, LBPD says that at about 6:55 p.m., officers were sent to the 6200 block of Downey Avenue and found a wounded man lying on the ground near a service road. Officers gave the victim medical aid; LBFD transported him to a hospital but the victims succumbed to his wounds.

The victim hasn't been identified (pending notification of next of kin) but LBPD says he was a man in his 20's.

It's the second fatal shooting this month in the eastern part of LB's 9th Council district. On October 16, a man was shot to death in the 3300 block of E. 67th St.
