Drive-By Shooting 1100 block E. 59th St (CD 9/Richardson, NE of Obama Library) Misses Hitting Woman, PD Finds Evidence Including Strike Marks Indicating Shooting Occurred

(Oct 29, 2021, 12:05 p.m.) -- A drive-by shooting in the 1100 block of E. 59th St. (CD 9/Richardson, a block north a few blocks east of the Obama library) missed hitting a woman last night (Oct. 28.)

LBPD Public Information Officer Richard Mejia says the woman (adult) said she was standing near a building in the 1100 block of E. 59th St. when a man (adult) approached her in a gray vehicle. He said something to her and discharged a firearm from the vehicle toward the woman. The round(s) missed hitting her.

Officers located evidence, including strike marks, indicating a shooting ocurred. The suspect fled before officers arrived.

Recent shootings nearby: On Oct. 5, 2021, a man was sounded in a drive by shooting on South St./Linden Ave. (CD 8/CD 9 border) a block south and a block west of the Obama Neighborhood Library.

On Aug 21, 2021, a man was shot/wounded in the area of 61st St/Atlantic Ave. (CD 9/Richardson) just north of the Obama library.
