UPDATE: 20 Yr Old LBCC Student Is Found Shot To Death, 52nd/Atlantic (8th dist.)

It's second 8th dist. shooting in less than 30 days, and on June 28, a woman was fatally shot in nearby Carmelitos housing project

(Sept. 26, 2018. 7:30 a.m., updated 4:40 p.m.) -- A 20-year old LBCC student, Guy Eugene Alford, was identified by LBPD this afternoon (Sept. 26) as the man found in the midnight hour shot to death in the parking lot of a fast-food (drive-through) restaurant on Atlantic Ave./52nd St. (8th Council district.)

In a release, LBPD says Mr. Alford "was inside a blue Chevrolet Impala in the parking lot when the shooting occurred. LBFD paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. LBPD's overnight Watch Commander told LBREPORT.com that homicide investigators were on-scene through the night conducting an investigation.

In its release, LBPD says "the motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation remains ongoing."

On June 28, a woman was fatally shot in the nearby Carmelitos housing project.

And it's the second 8th district shooting in less than 30 days. On August 30, a man was shot/wounded in broad daylight at midmorning in the busy 5300 block of LB Blvd. south of Market St
