(Sept. 11, 2020, 1:30 p.m.) -- In LB's third shooting crime scene in as many days, multiple unoccupied vehicles were struck by gunfire -- but no persons appear to have been hit -- in the 1700 block of E,. 17th St. in LB's "Cambodia Town" (6th council district/Andrews.)
LBPD Administrator Karen Owens tells LBREPORT.com that on Sept.11 at about 7:42 p.m. officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1700 block of E. 17th Street and found a large crime scene with no victims. "Bullet casings were located at the scene, several unoccupied vehicles were struck by gunfire, and three firearms were left at the scene and were recovered by officers. Officers are attempting to locate witnesses and video. The incident is being investigated as possibly gang related and the investigation remains ongoing. A day earlier on Sept. 10, a man was shot to death in downtown LB in the area of Atlantic Ave/4th St. (1st dist./) and LBPD arrested three suspects, in what police believe was an attempted robbery. A day prior on Sept. 9, a man was shot./wounded in the area of Atlantic Ave./1st St. (2nd dist./Pearce) in a possible attempted robbery. LBPD hasn't indicated whether it believes the two attempted robberies are related. . |
