UPDATE: Man Is Shot/Wounded In Midnight Hour Robbery, 700 Queensway Dr. (Address Of Hotel Maya)

(UPDATED 2:05 p.m. from 1:48 p.m., 10:40 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. from Sept. 16, 2020, 4:10 a.m..) -- LBPD says a man walking in the area of 700 Queensway Drive (address of Hotel Maya) was shot/wounded by three men (adults) who robbed him, shot him and fled the area in a white sedan.

LBPD Public Information Officer Brandon Fahey tells LBREPORT.com (9 am hour email) that "officers located a male adult victim with a gunshot wound to the lower torso Officers canvassed the area and located evidence, including bullet casings, that a shooting had occurred

The victim stated "that as he was walking in the area, three adult male suspects wearing masks approached, robbed, and shot him then fled the area in a white sedan."

UPDATE 2:05 p.m. In a further update on shooting location, another LBPD PIO indicated (very general description) it was in an area near the hotel pool, near a walkway and grassry area between walkway and rocks that line the shore. [In other words, it wasn't in the hotel parking lot.]

A 10 a.m. hour inquiry by LBREPORT.com to Hotel Maya's manager went to voice mail; a response is pending.

The Hotel Maya (offering picturesque views of LB's shoreline skyline) is an elegant facility, a favored venue of LB poltiicians. It was the site of 2nd dist. candidate Cindy Allen's Oct. 2019 candidate announcement and fundraiser.

LBPD overnight Watch Commander Lt. Aaron Alu told LBREPORT.com (initial informaiton) that the suspects were described as three male Hispanic adults.

LBPD gang detectives were called out [LBPD believes this is routine in non=fatal shootings].and LBPD;s investigation is active and ongoing.

A Hotel Maya employee who responded to our 4 a.m. telephone inquiry declined to tell us if the shooting occurred inside or outside the hotel and referred us to the manager who he indicated won't arrive until after 8 a.m.
