(Sept. 14, 2019, 11:05 a.m.) -- A 39 year old man riding a bicycle on part of the northbound 405 freeway at Woodruff Ave. was struck and killed by a car shortly after 10 p.m. Friday (Sept. 13.)

CHP says the bicyclist was riding a Schwinn in the "auxiliary lane" [the lane added to let drivers speed up/slow down when getting on or off a freeway] when he was struck by a 2007 Lexus driven by an 83 year old man.

LBFD pronounced the bicyclist deceased at the scene. The L.A. County Coroner's office hadn't released the decedent's name as of midmorning Ssaturday pending notification of next of kin.]

CHP says there was no arrest.
