(Sept. 8, 2019, 12:55 p.m.) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that a man was stabbed in the area of 7th St./Park Ave., basically across 7th St. from the southern end of Wilson High's Blair Field.

Officially, LBPD PIO Jennifer De Prez tells LBREPORT.com that on Saturday September 7, 2019 at about 9:00 p.m., officers responded to the 4700 block of E. 7th St. regarding reports of a stabbing victim and found a man (adult) in a parking lot with multiple lacerations to his upper torso who said he'd been stabbed by a group of male and female suspects.

The suspects fled in a vehicle prior to officers' arrival. LBFD took the victim to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Later that night, officers spotted the suspects' vehicle in the area of 4th St./Rose Ave., conducted a traffic stop and took two suspects into custody: two Long Beach men in their 20s, arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon not a firearm (with one also arrested/booked for an unrelated outstanding warrant.)

LBPD's investigation is ongoing. The cases of the two arrestees haven't yet been presented to the DA which will decide whether to prosecute/file charges. .
