(Sept. 5, 2021, 5:30 p.m.) -- Gunfire flew in southern Bixby Knolls at midafternoon Sunday Sept. 5.

LBPD Public Information Officer confirms that at about 3:47 p.m., officers were sent to the 3300 block of Atlantic Ave. (north of 405, just south of Wardlow Rd., CD 7/Uranga) after a suspect on foot shot at a victim in a vehicle. The rounds missed hitting the victim. The shooter fled on foot.

Officers found strike marks in the area along with bullet casings. The motive for the shooting isn't currently unknown.
