(Sept. 6, 2021, 1:35 p.m..) -- Long Beach had its third no-person-hit shooting in roughly 24 hours last night (Sept. 5) with gunfire in Councilman Daryl Supernaw's 4th Council district "Zaferia" neighborhood.

LBPD Public Information Officer Arantxa Chavarria confirms that on Sunday Sept 5 at about 11:15 p.m., LBPD officers responded to the 1100 block of Obispo Ave. (one block west of Redondo Ave.,two blocks south of Anaheim St.)

Once on scene, the found evidence indicating a shooting had occurred. No injuries were reported; no suspect information or motive are known and LBPD's investigation is ongoing.

As previously reported by LBREPORT.com, shortly before midnight Sept. 4-5 gunfire struck an apartment building in the 1400 block of E. South St. (border CD 8/Austin-/CD 9/Richardson.)

And at midafternoon Sunday afternoon Sept. 5, southern Bixby Knolls (CD 7/Uranga) had a person-to-car shooting in the 3300 block Atlantic Ave. (rounds missed hitting driver, casings found.)

These three no-person-hit shootings followed a double homicide on Fri Sept. 3 in which a man and woman were fatally shot near Drake Park (CD 1/Zendejas.)
