He died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and Nino's staff/family. He was loved and his influence and contribution to others live on in our memories.
It is normal for parents to go to work, but our father and mother took us to work. We have spent our entire daily lives together. Literally.
When the restaurant is closed we have family dinners on Mondays and breakfasts together on weekends. Plus all the daily calls we make throughout the day to each other.
Our Nino's staff feels the same way. The heartbreak we feel is enormous because he was not just a significant part of our lives, but a substantial part of our day.
Thank you all for each wonderful message and kind phone call you have made. Sharing your personal stories and love for him means a lot. Each one comforts our hearts during this very harsh reality that he is gone.
Thank you for your prayers too. We know he is with us in spirit and looking down on us, but we miss his voice, his hugs and twinkle in his eyes that were given to us every day.
