(Dec. 27, 2016) -- As reported on our front page yesterday (Dec. 26), LBREPORT.com has learned of the passing (Dec. 24) of George Sabbagh, owner of K.C. Branaghan's and a prominent figure in the Naples Island community.
A dispatch on the Naples Island Facebook page states: "We mourn and celebrate our good friend and colleague George Sabbagh. He passed away Saturday morning. Not only was he a successful restaurateur, he was a friend of the community who could always be counted on for support." A dispatch on Mr. Sabbagh's Facebook page from Terry Ulaszewski states, "George was the informal 'Mayor of Naples' to me. Branaghan's was our 'Cheers' and George always knew your name. RIP George."
