LBPD Becomes Crime Victim: Burglar(s) Break Into Building Slated To Become LBPD's New East Division Station (Willow/Grand), Steal Copper Wiring...In November 2013
|
(April 16, 2014) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that the City of Long Beach -- and specifically the Long Beach Police Department -- became a crime victim late last year when a burglar(s) broke into the building at Willow St./Grand Ave. (SE quadrant, Schroeder Hall) slated to become LBPD's new East Division station and stole some presently undisclosed amount of copper wiring.
LBPD Public Information Officer Marlene Arrona says that on November 9, 2013, officers responded to 3800 E. Willow St. (across the street from The Grand event center) and found evidence that a commercial burglary occurred. The loss was copper wiring. Officers searched the location but didn't find any suspects. Official information is thin at this point. LBREPORT.com is told through a third party [caveat: reliable source but received information indirectly and unconfirmed] that the loss of copper wiring may fairly extensive. LBREPORT.com will report further on this as we learn it. blog comments powered by Disqus
