(April 29, 5:15 p.m.) -- LBPD has issued a release providing additional information on yesterday's (April 28) fatal accident in the 7500 block of E. Spring. St. near the road entering the Park (to the north) and the Nature Center/Animal Care Services (to the south).
[LBPD release text] On April 28, 2016, at approximately 4:36 PM officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle versus vehicle traffic collision at Spring Street and El Dorado Park Drive. Upon Officers arrival they immediately began CPR on a non-responsive female who was involved in the collision. (Initial report: April 28, 2016, 7:40 p.m.) -- A woman (adult) died Thursday (April 28) when the vehicle she was driving was involved in a collision at roughly 4:30 p.m. with another vehicle in the 7500 block of E. Spring St. (El Dorado Park area west of the entrance to Nature Center/Animal Care Services) In preliminary information, LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. James Richardson says both LBPD and LBFD arriving units attempted life-saving measures that were unsuccessful and the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other vehicle contained three occupants, all of whom had minor injuries, PIO Richardson says. The identity of the decedent is withheld pending notification of next of kin.
