(Updated April 24, 7:15 a.m. from April 21, 2018, 11:55 p.m.) -- Two LB businesses were robbed at gunpoint within less than a two hour period on Saturday night LBREPORT.com has learned that the victimized businesses were a convenience store in the 400 block of Atlantic Ave. (1st district, Gonzalez) was hit shortly before 7:00 p.m., and a liquor store in the 3600 block of Cherry Ave. (7th district, Uranga) was held up shortly after 8:30 p.m. LBPD Watch Commander Lt. Lee Debrabander tells LBREPORT.com that officers were dispatched to the first armed robbery at about 6:52 p.m., learned that a male adult had allegedly committed the crime...and officers successfully located the suspect and took him into custody. Officers were dispatched to the second armed robbery at about 8:41 p.m., learned that a male adult had allegedly committed the crime; he's currently outstanding as the investigation continues. [UPDATE] LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt says the suspect is a male Hispanic, 25-30 years, 5'6", 175 lbs., with a multi-colored shirt, dark pants and wearing a backpack. These armed robberies come a little over a week after five armed male suspects (unclear if adults or juveniles) robbed a family-owned restaurant and its workers at gunpoint on April 23: Location of first armed robbery corrected to indicate 1st Council district.
